These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and SquadlyClub ("Squadly", "we", "us") governing your use of the Squadly website and application (the "Service"). By creating an account, you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create a Squadly account. By signing up, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that all information you provide is accurate.
2. Your account
You're responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account. Tell us immediately at security@squadlyclub.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
3. Cost
Squadly is currently free to use, with no payment method required. If we introduce paid plans, we will announce them in advance and you will only be charged if you choose to sign up for one.
4. Squads, trips, and your content
Squadly helps groups track shared expenses, chores, and trips. You retain ownership of the content you add (expenses, messages, itineraries, photos). By adding content, you grant Squadly a license to host, display, and process it as needed to provide the Service to you and the other members of your squad or trip.
Squadly is a record-keeping tool, not a bank or an arbiter. We don't hold funds, guarantee that anyone will actually pay what a split says they owe, or mediate disputes between squad members. Payment between members happens outside the Service (e.g., via whatever method your squad agrees on).
5. Calculations and suggestions
Splits, balances, summaries and estimates shown in Squadly are provided for your convenience and information only. They are not financial, tax or legal advice, and you are responsible for checking them before you rely on them.
Bank connections
If you choose to connect a bank, the connection is provided through Plaid and is read-only: Squadly can see account names, balances and transactions, and cannot move money. Imported figures come from your bank and may be delayed or incomplete. You can disconnect at any time from Finance.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, including money laundering or fraud.
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users.
- Upload content that's illegal, infringing, or violates someone else's rights.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems.
- Scrape, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the Service's normal operation.
- Upload malicious files or attempt to introduce malware.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.
7. Copyright (DMCA)
If you believe content on Squadly infringes your copyright, see our DMCA Policy for how to submit a takedown notice.
8. Intellectual property
Squadly and its branding, design, and code are owned by SquadlyClub and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. These Terms don't grant you any rights to our trademarks or branding.
9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any calculations, estimates or suggestions it shows will be accurate.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Squadly will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service is limited to the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability where the law doesn't allow it to be limited.
10. Disputes
If you have a problem with the Service, please email legal@squadlyclub.com first. Most issues can be sorted out informally, and we will do our best to respond promptly. Nothing in these Terms takes away any right you have under the consumer-protection laws where you live, or your right to bring a claim in small-claims court.
11. Termination
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, and we'll try to give you notice and a chance to fix the issue first unless the violation is serious (e.g., fraud, security threats, or illegal activity).
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state in which the operator of the Service is based, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. This does not limit any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll notify you of material changes by email or an in-app notice. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
